At the county graded track and field in Cork, Owen Thornhill delivered some great throws in the hammer that secured for him a merited victory and he also finished sixth in the 400mts. Maureen Glanton was also in fine form as she finished third in the ladies hammer. In a West Cork juvenile summer league, Mallaidh O’Neill brought her excellent Munster winning form of the previous week to the Town Park, Bandon, as she recorded two great victories in the 60mts and 400mts.
In the Donoughmore seven mile road race which was staged last Friday evening, Stephen O’Mahony was impressive when finishing second in the Masters section in which there was a big entry.
